UNPLUGGED AND POWERED DOWN: Calling kids back to a life in balance with phones, computers, TVs, and gaming with peace rather than power struggles

Michael Vladeck returns to BCSIS on Thursday, April 18th, from 6-7:30pm to share another evening with us. This year, Michael’s focus turns to technology. In his presentation, “Unplugged and Powered Down: Calling kids back to a life in balance with phones, computers, TVs, and gaming with peace rather than power struggles”, Michael will help us, as parents, teachers and mentors to our children:

* Understand the risks and myths of excessive “screen time”
* Learn how to avoid power struggles when itʼs time to separate from the screen
* Learn how to parent to children who have poor self-control and self-regulation with screens
* Connect deeply to your childʼs needs, feelings and fears around issues of limited screen time
* Learn ways to help your child moderate themselves
* Learn a few ways that children get around internet blocks and cell phone blocks
* Learn more about bringing children back into balance if they have fallen from it.

Back by popular demand…SVEN JORGENSEN and FRIENDS
BCSIS students will, once again, have a fabulous opportunity to interact directly with visionary circus artist, Sven Jorgensen.

For those of you who do not know Sven, allow me to introduce him. Sven is a world-class circus artist. He has visited BCSIS in the past, sharing his expertise in creative juggling and circus artistry, receiving rave reviews from children, teachers and parents alike. You can read more about him at his website: http://www. svenjorgensen.com

Sven is a huge supporter of BCSIS and, together with some helpers, will join our community on April 18th to play with and amaze our children. He will bring some of the tricks he shared in September, along with some new experiences that are sure to delight.

Also, please note that there is no school on April 19th…a perfect combination!
