Community Growth Campaign
Donations to the CGC provide immediate and meaningful impact to the experience of our students. Support for CGC comes from current families, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty, and friends. The CGC begins each year on July 1 and ends on June 30. Join our effort this year to ensure that BCSIS’s extraordinary faculty, staff and students have all the tools they need to explore and learn.
Fundraising and donations play a crucial role in supporting the various programs and initiatives that enhance the learning experience for our children. Here's a breakdown of the allocation of donations:
What it Goes Toward
36%: is used to supplement Para (teacher's aides) and classroom enrichment, including support for the Talented and Gifted (TAG) program. This helps ensure that students receive additional assistance and enrichment opportunities beyond the regular curriculum.
33%: goes directly to the classroom teachers as allotments. These funds are intended to cover supplies and materials that go beyond what is already provided through the regular materials fee. This enables teachers to have access to the resources they need to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
14%: covers the costs of school-wide Community Building events. These events foster a sense of community within the school and help build relationships among students, parents, and staff.
3%: is earmarked for teacher professional development. Investing in professional development allows teachers to enhance their skills and knowledge, benefiting the students and the overall quality of education provided.
3%: supports the Artist-in-Residence and First Friday programs. These programs bring in guest artists and performers to enrich the students' artistic experiences and expose them to various art forms.
5%: is reserved for a Special Opportunities Fund. This fund can be used to seize unique opportunities that arise during the school year, such as unexpected educational trips, special projects, or guest speakers that enhance the curriculum
4%: covers fundraising expenses. It is common for schools to incur some costs when organizing fundraising events or campaigns, and this ensures that the fundraising efforts can continue effectively.
2%: covers administrative costs. It helps cover the essential administrative expenses associated with managing and distributing the donations effectively.
